How it works

A time zone is just an offset from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), and many zones shift that offset twice a year for daylight saving time. To convert, the tool turns your source wall-clock time into an absolute instant in UTC, then re-expresses that same instant in the target zone.

target time = source time − source offset + target offset

Offsets are read from your browser's built-in time-zone database for the exact date you pick, so daylight-saving changes are handled automatically. Everything runs locally, no clock data leaves your device.

What this does

A timezone converter changes a date and time from one world time zone to another, applying daylight-saving automatically and showing each zone’s UTC offset and the difference between them.

How to use it

  1. Pick the source zone and enter a date and time.
  2. Pick the destination time zone.
  3. Read the converted local time and the offset.
  4. Swap the zones to convert the other way.

Example

12:00 in New York (UTC−5 in winter) is 17:00 in London (UTC+0), a five-hour difference.

Frequently asked questions

Are daylight-saving changes handled?

Yes. The offset for each zone is read from your browser’s time-zone database for the exact date you choose, so daylight-saving shifts are applied automatically on either side of the conversion.

Where does the time-zone data come from?

From the IANA time-zone database built into your browser, accessed through the standard Intl API. No external service is contacted.

Is my data stored?

No. Everything is calculated locally in your browser.
