Slug Generator

Turn any title into a clean, URL-friendly slug: accents are stripped, spaces and symbols become hyphens, and the result is lowercased. Slugify many lines at once, all in your browser.

Paste multiple lines to slugify each line separately.

Slug

How it works

Accented letters are normalized to their plain equivalents (café → cafe), then every run of non-alphanumeric characters becomes a single separator, with leading and trailing separators trimmed. The result is a clean, URL-safe slug you can drop straight into a web address.

Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

What this does

A slug generator turns a title into a clean, URL-friendly slug, stripping accents, lowercasing, and replacing spaces and symbols with hyphens.

How to use it

  1. Paste a title, or many titles.
  2. Read the generated slug.
  3. Slugify multiple lines at once.
  4. Copy the result.

Frequently asked questions

What is a slug?

A slug is the readable part of a URL that identifies a page, such as “my-first-post”. Clean slugs are easier to read and better for SEO.

How are accented characters handled?

Accented Latin letters are normalized to their plain equivalents (café becomes cafe, straße becomes strasse). Letters that have no plain-Latin form, like ø, 東京 or Москва, are kept: browsers and most CMSs accept them and percent-encode them in the address bar.

Can I slugify a whole list?

Yes. Paste multiple lines and each is converted to its own slug on its own line.
