Good times to call

How it works

Your day is lined up against theirs in 15-minute steps using your browser's time-zone database, so half- and quarter-hour zones such as India (UTC+5:30) and Nepal (UTC+5:45) come out exactly. A stretch is a good time to call when it falls inside both your available hours and theirs, accounting for the live offset (and any daylight-saving change) between the zones. A start hour later than the end hour (say 22 to 6) is an overnight window that runs past midnight.

Times are shown in both people's local clocks so there's no mental arithmetic. Everything runs locally in your browser, nothing is saved or sent anywhere.

What this does

This calculator finds the best time to call someone in another time zone, showing every overlapping slot between two sets of available hours in both local clocks.

How to use it

  1. Set your available hours.
  2. Set their available hours.
  3. Pick both time zones.
  4. Read the overlapping call slots.

Understanding your result

Each highlighted slot falls inside both sets of hours, so it is a time that respects everyone rather than one that merely overlaps while someone is asleep. When zones are far apart the only matches may be early or late and tagged next-day or prev-day, so read those tags before sending an invite and lean toward the slot that is least antisocial for the other person.

Example

On 1 October 2026, New York 9–5 and Tokyo 9–5 don’t overlap at all. With the default 8 AM–10 PM on both sides there are two windows: 8–9 AM in New York (9–10 PM in Tokyo) and 7–10 PM in New York (8–11 AM the next day in Tokyo). New York and Mumbai, both 8 AM–10 PM, share 8 AM–12:30 PM in New York, which is 5:30–10 PM in Mumbai.

Frequently asked questions

How are good call times found?

Your day is lined up against theirs in 15-minute steps; a stretch counts when it falls inside both your available hours and theirs, using the live offset between the zones (half-hour zones such as India included).

Why is a slot marked “next day” or “prev day”?

When zones are far apart, the same moment can land on a different calendar day for the other person, so the tag shows whose date has rolled over.

Is my data stored?

No. Everything is calculated locally in your browser.
